Hello sunshine~

Today is 31st of December, the very end of 2014.

Hence this entry is made. Otherwise I will lay in my bed doing nothing and forgot that I have a blog that need to be updated. Ha ha ha...

I honestly very confused how to start this post.

There are just too many things happened in 2014' which kinda the starting point of my life. I am not going to write everything, but here are some biggest events in 2014.

First thing first, I was really glad that I could finish my college on time!

Who thought that me and my friends can survive this horrifying Uni pretty smoothly since our first comment at semester one was, "I don't think that I can finish this in 4 years"

But hey, I did it anyway, also with a grade that satisfying enough and could be proud of to my children later.

Lesson learnt, never underestimated your own ability :D

However the point is, being born with Asian culture, this is my time to get out of the house, building my own life and career, payback my parents for all they gave to me bits by bits.

Later on, I started this blog out of my boredom.

I must be lying if I say I don't care about the page views because I checked it everyday! Of course I am very happy when people are actually reading this crap blog of my muttering. I put a deep thought to almost every posts and never expected that my most popular post is Schwarzkopf one!

I wrote that super fast without any thought and Photoshop-ed it really fast too.

Just click click click and done and publish it o.o"

Maybe next time I should have done that again......

There are more going on, but those are too personal. I should keep it exclusively for me and family and close-friends.

Lol now you may realize that I am a SK-II addict.

My entire skincare used to be all SK-II product, but my skin is getting accustomed with their formula and I saw no progress in last 4 months.

Well, I already use them for 3 years so it didn't surprise me at all.

Now I am steadily change my skincare to another products and planning to go back to SK-II when I think my skin is ready for their product again :D

To wrap 2014, I am super super thankful for everything in the past year.

I learnt so much, I gained so much, so many emotion in this year.

Tell you, being a sentimental and making a resolution for a new year is not my thing. So, I expect nothing for 2015..
I never make a resolution because when I couldn't reach all of them, I'm likely will be disappointed. What I do every year is just dedicate myself to do best, get better, and be a better person.
This new year will be the same. Just!! Since my application for Australia Visa is in the process, I really wish that I could get the visa smoothly and fly there asap (because I need a job plus living and travelling to Aussie sounds great in my ear ^^).
Not forgotten that my biggest wish for 2015 is to eat healthily and lose some weight.
I realize that entering this stage of life (why I felt like an old lady -_-), my body's metabolism is getting slower. It's a choice between now or regret later because the losing weight process become harder.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Makeup Remover Review

How are you everyone?

Today I'm just going to make a quick post because my eyes are barely open right now.

It's 12:30 AM in my place and I have been having a busy day on my holiday :D

(the body's "need to rest and sleep" alert is on hahahaha -_-)

So it's a choice between go to sleep or I-might-not-write-this-tomorrow-if-I-go-to-sleep.

Hmmmm... which makes me go with the first option. Ha!

If you are on the same situation with me, I believe that you all makeup junkies will definitely having a pretty heavy makeup all day long at end of the year's holiday.

I didn't bother to change my makeup during the day because basically what I do is getting ready in the morning, re-touch in the afternoon, and remove all that dirt at night then jump to bed. Hence I usually put more on my morning makeup than what I normally do.

THAT.. makes us need to have an amazing amazing amazing makeup remover (see how I wrote 'amazing' three times)

Bioderma Sensibio H2O has been quite a topic for the past year and I never thought of tried it, I wonder why. Until I read Stephanie Nangoi's post on DiaryOfAProductJunkie and decided go to a nearby Watson's, put the Bioderma on my basket and swipe my card.

Now it becomes one of my perfect decision EVER *claps*

Bioderma from France created Sensibio H2O in "Non-rinse, Paraben Free, and Hypoallergenic". Want to be happier? It works both for our face and eyes in quite an affordable price!

Sensibio H2O comes in three sizes, 100ml; 250ml; 500ml. The prices are definitely depends on where you live, but I'm lucky enough that they don't overpriced here in Indonesia :D

I bought 500ml because I was so brave to dare enough challenge myself and my money (but no, no, don't do this), yet I want the smallest one now for travelling.

The bulky 500ml really isn't travel-friendly.

I honestly laugh when I saw this. They write 12M, the 12 months shelf-life, and I feel that I will used it up in less than a year though :P

They chose a nice color there to compliment the transparent-looking of the plastic bottle.

The cap is pretty good :D Not too tight, but not lousy either.

It's testing time :D !

Do I need to explain this step?

I reckon this is what people are normally forget. Well, I did too a long time ago!

Have you ever wondered why after tons of makeup remover that you've tried, you never found something really good especially for eye area?

Now I questioning you, did you wipe right after you put the cotton pad onto your face?

If your answer is no, then my apologies maybe you just haven't found the right one yet (how come finding a perfect makeup remover is as hard as finding life partner ~~ehem~~). But if you dont, then I might know the answer for you :D!

It's a simple trick that everybody's-know-but-you-don't-know.

Press the pads on your desired area then wait for minimum 5 seconds (MINIMUM).

The longer is better and depends on how heavy your makeup is.

I'll just wait for a couple of seconds for light makeup, and minimum of 15 seconds for heavy eye makeup.

After the waiting process, starts to wipe it gently and slowly and...

TA-DA

The logic is when you wait for seconds, you give the product time to soak into the skin and do their job

Conclusion:

- PROS: affordable, no scent (at least for me), save ingredients, perfect consistency (watery), non greasy, non drying, non-irritating (both face and eyes), works perfect, no tightness around the face

- CONS: none for me

Cosmos Eyeliner

I was strolling my instagram that night and accidentally found out that this eyeliner had became a talk in instagram world for a while.

Now let me tell you what I think about the eyeliner

Cosmos is a makeup brand from Taiwan. I was a little bit hesitant at first because of the 'made in Taiwan' thingy somehow sounds like 'made in China' in my ear,
but... hell yea, who cares, there must be something about it that people raved about.

This eyeliner has been rumored that it will stay on your watery and oily eyes.
Well, I had to agree about that, though.
I have an oily eyelids and they never smudge on me.
Mine is in Champagne and Chocolate Moose(this is not a typo. The packaging really written like this!) color.
Chocolate Moose one is like your normal dark brown eyeliner nice for waterline or for your normal application, while Champagne has this beautiful gold rose color perfect to highlight the inner corner of our eyes. It looks beautiful on the pan with adequate amount of sparkle, until I swatch it on my hands...
Oh by the way, they are very pigmented. What you see is what you get :P

It's actually very nice on my eyes if I don't mind the glitter
It. just. not. working...
The glitter went everywhere on my eyes especially when I wore Champagne for waterline.
Has I said that the glitter is not the tiny little chunk but the BIG chunk?
That is the reason why :(
Both products have the same consistency which is very smooth and creamy.
Too creamy that makes Champagne broke during my flight to Jakarta T_T

Cosmos provides us a small sharpener for you all who prefer a sharp edge to start your makeup. Not forgetting that inside that cap, there is a smudger as well!
How thoughtful of them, really, if only the smudger do its purpose.
No matter how fast I am using the smudger as soon as I put my eyeliner on,
it never works. It never smudge it! What I got was just a red and sore eyelids instead :'(

I did the swatch and it's time to test it now!

- I put it under a running water. Waterproof test -> Checked.
- I rub it once. Staying power(?) test -> Checked.
- I rub it five times. Great staying power(~~wtf~~) test -> Checked.
- I rub it like crazy until you see all those redness. Almost perfect staying power(~~duh~~) test -> Checked.

All in all, my final opinion is:

Pros:
- Great pigmentation
- Great staying power
- Cheap! I haven't mention this, right?
- It's retractable. No more of those sharpening jobs :D

Cons:
- Champagne has waaaay too much glitter and big chunks of it (attention!)
- Removing problem. The glitter seems like loving to stay on my eyes. One night I was forced to sleep with the glitters leftover on my eyes, which is a bad thing :(
- Good staying power, but honestly both of them were quite a bad child when I want to put them off. I had a hard time removing them from my eyes.
- Too fragile. Remember, Champagne is broke!

Overall Score:
6/10

I have think about it and my final decision is that I'm not going to purchase this anymore

Tips and Tricks: Double Eyelid without Surgery (for Monolid and Uneven Eyelid)

Then hold on! Read this post before you splurge and wasting your money on it

Okay...

Double eyelid?

What the heck is that?

Alright, maybe some of you never heard of this term before especially if you're a Caucasian whom born naturally with it or maybe someone not into makeup or even a newbie in makeup world.

Now let me tell you a little bit about it.

Double eyelid is a condition when your eyes have a crease above them, like this

Caucasian tend to born with double eyelid, almost all of them, if I'd say.

Yet I never met Caucasian who do not have a double eyelid, so if there is Caucasian who do not have it, please let me know!

You need to know that Caucasian and Asian double eyelid is different.

Most Caucasian tend to have the crease high above their eyes like many of Hollywood Stars you normally see on TV and cinema, meanwhile most Asian double eyelid's crease is lower. Yes, mostly, because I know that there are some Caucasian with hooded eyelids which make the crease go lower and there are Asian with deep set eyes which make the crease higher (I'll elaborate further about this later). Hooded eyelids happened when there are excessive fat on the area between your eyes and eyebrow. Many Asian born with this, but some Caucasian actually does! The excessive fat level is vary for each people. However, Caucasian tends to have lower excessive fat level than Asian, while some Asian (especially Chinese descent in most cases) have too much excessive fat on that area that makes their eyes drown and unseen if they smile (talking about general idea of Asian eyes worldwide like this -> (—_—) or like Mulan's eyes which is ridiculous and totally wrong!). A few numbers of popular Hollywood Stars with obvious hooded eyelids are Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lawrence, and Blake Lively.

There are two types of crease, tapered and parallel like the picture below:

People with hooded eyes are more suitable with tapered crease rather than parallel crease because the excessive fat just doesn't make it possible for the crease to go higher. It will make the eyes look unnatural and super super weird. Imagine it like your sitting in a chair and your maybe-a-little-bit-fat stomach fold into two level.

Is it work for all Asian?
Of course NO.
Not all Asian have hooded eyelids because Asia is a BIG continent.
I realize that many people only think of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese when Asian topic came up, but please please please remember that Asia consists of numerous number of countries. India, Lebanon, Vietnam, Thailand, half Russia, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Kazakhstan, U.A.E, etc. Even Iraq and Iran IS in Asia Continent ^.~

This makes us reminded that we are talking about numerous eye types which I couldn't explain one by one in this post. So I would only mention hooded eyes that belongs to most of the people in Central and Southeast Asia since there are many Chinese descent there.
People especially live in Middle East have different cases. They born with a mega beautiful deep set eyes that make me go nuts and jealous
(but don't worry I love my eyes even more)
Fyi, the real Indonesian with Melayu descendant also have a beautiful deep set eyes and high crease like Caucasian and Middle East people ;)

Back to the topic *fiuhhh
I also born with same problem of many Asian women out there, slanted-mono-hooded eyelids. I never know before that I can get a surgery for bigger eyes, but even if I know, I wouldn't have the guts to do it. It's just scary. Eyes is the most delicate organ on our body surface and cutting the part surrounds it with a knife is horrifying enough to be imagined.
Hence, all I want at the first time knowing make up was just to make my eyes bigger for easier make up application and bigger eyes make your face a whole different .You know what I mean, right?

For you to understand how a double eyelid can make my face looks what-I-think is better.
My left double eyelid gone two days ago which make me think of this blog post.
My right eye (from my side) with double eyelid and my left eye with monolid. Sorry for all the redness. I've just went to a bad skin condition these few weeks because of the weather.

The only option available for me that time was the normal eye tape (people call it skot in Indonesia). I used it almost everyday when I go out and after for a while (probably 2-3 months), I realized that the double eyelid stayed on my eyes for about 1-2 days even when I don't use the eye tape.
I was fine and used it everyday and never think of getting it permanent until one day, the double side tape is invented (I'll back to this later).

Nowadays, there are many options for us to choose such as eyelid glue, eyelid fiber, and double side tape. You can use whichever you find suitable and easiest for you,
but the most effective to create a permanent double eyelid on your monolid and even out your uneven double eyelid is double side tape.

I found it years ago on a beauty shelf rack in a beauty store and grab it immediately into my basket. I tried it and fell in love with all of its goodness.

Eyelid glue was popular before that, but I don't like the finish result of eyelid glue.
It looks invisible for the first 2-3 hours and became a white cast after that.
My friend often told me that there are dirt on my lids wtf.
I didn't give up and bought the most popular koji eyelid glue.
I tried it and tossed it out a week after. I went back to my normal eye tape. Ha!

With double eye tape, it stays for hours without getting visible except you put it wrong.
It's also a lot stronger than other types and the best part has came:
You can get a permanent double eyelid with consistent use.
Many people recommend to use it 24/7 day and night as long as possible until you get your permanent double eyelid. It will take 3 months at minimum with 24/7 use.
I used it once during the night when I go to sleep, but I woke up with a messy eye lid instead (see that it might not work for me, but might work for you since it works for everybody else ;D).
Here is what I did: I used it almost everyday on my desirable double eyelid line (except on a day when I didn't go out at all during my college which means I have A LOT of days off) during the day and not when I sleep. I couldn't remember the exact time, but it took me probably around 1.5 years. Why so long?
Once again, I use it inconsistently. I didn't use it 24/7. In fact, I was once didn't use it for a whole week.

I don't need to put the double eye tape on my lids now. Indeed, there are times when it's gone. Are you in doubt now? Well, no need.
My double eyelid will stay in shape everyday except when I cry or my eyes got irritated and teary that made me need to rub it with a tissue (I know that we shouldn't, but I couldn't help it when its teary. Anyways, DON'T rub your eyes). However, once I put on the double eye tape for a while (even for 5 minutes only), then VOILA! It's back.

Getting a permanent double eyelid is a long journey for me, but I didn't mind it because I was not in a rush. My tips and tricks for you are:

1. Get the best double eye tape for your eyes

We have different eye shapes, types and conditions. Find one that work best on your eye.
My best eye tape was not the photo above. I've run out of it and I forgot the name, but it's a Japanese brand.

2. Find your most natural eye lid line

Like I said, our eye shapes and types are different. Hence it makes our natural line on different position too! I tried different line position and it took me a while to realize which line suit me the most. So do experiment with it! If it hurts your eye and teary and not comfortable, took it off and start again. Practice makes perfect.

3. Clean your lids before applying it
If you have oily lids, clean your lids so the tape sticks better. If you have a normal eyes, please also clean it before because all the dirt on your lids can make the glue become less-strong than what it could be. Just use a toner, eye makeup remover, or water is also fine.

4. Be patient
Don't get too rush and just be patient. It takes time, of course, and the time range is different for everybody. Some people might get it fast and some not, but I'm almost 100% sure that everyone can get this without plastic surgery. SAVE your money!

"Hei Mel, a question. I have a double eyelid already, but it's uneven.
Can I use this method to make it even?"
YES definitely! Just try it and practice at home ;)

Last but not least, every eye shape is beautiful. I did this just because I like the me with double eyelid rather than monolid.
I like the me with monolid, but I like it even more with double eyelid.
In the end, the most important is what makes you feels better and confident, right?
